In the blink of an eye 🌸

In the blink of an eye 🌸

Here we are guys n gals, that time of year again & the word you’ve either been either dying to hear or not wanting to think about. SCHOOL. I’m a mix of both to be honest.

It’s an exciting time in the Henwell house hold, as our oldest is starting Primary one. The big 5 year old who only yesterday in my eyes was learning to hold her bottle by herself, crawl, walk & talk. She’s mastered the latter to a Tee. So this September she starts her journey into education & meeting new friends. She’s quite nervous but I know she will shine.

In this post I thought it might be a good idea to talk about all the essentials in preparing our little ones from School. I hope you enjoy.

I decided to splurge and go for a pretty Cath Kidston school bag for Eva-Lilly. The reason being, I hope this bag will see her through a good few years in school as it’s wipe clean. You can find similar here.

I actually got her uniform from M&S during their sale in June. I just need to pick up her jumper and bottoms for P.E days.

Another few & very useful items I picked up too from M&S where these getting ready for school activity packs.

They’ve been a hit here, especially during those rainy days that we’ve had recently. All the activity books wipe clean too (becoming a theme here)

For her birthday, Eva-Lilly’s auntie got her a matching number & colour game & she is loving it. Definitely worth looking into.

Similar to this can be found here

In terms of stationery, I’ve picked a lot of this up in our local B&M and Home Bargains.

To try and ease any of her anxieties about starting school we’ve been reading a Biff, Chip & Kipper book. This will be the book series she will be doing in school too, so at least she’s now familiar with it. She’s a big reader anyway so that helps.

All we need now is a drinks bottle for lunch time & a warm cosy coat, scarf & gloves to see her through the cold winter months. Oh & of course a durable coffee cup for mama.

Thankfully we made the most of the summer & made lots of lovely memories for Eva-Lilly to remember and share with her friends at school.

I hope you all enjoy the rest of the ‘summer’ holidays with your littles before the school runs, pick ups & sorting childminders starts again.
